Subscribing to the Calendar on your phone

We received some questions about subscribing to the HOG calendar on your cell phone. It seems it's not as straightforward as clicking a button on the screen. Below are step-by-step directions. Please note that these instructions assume you have an iPhone or Android device.

For iPhone Users:

Subscribing on the iPhone is relatively easy. Simply click on https://www.bhhog.org/calendar and hit Subscribe! Alternatively, you can visit the https://www.bhhog.org Calendar page and click the Subscribe link at the top or bottom of the page.

For Android Users:

Adding the BHHOG Calendar to your Android phone requires a few extra steps. Please follow these general instructions. Clicking on the link on the calendar page or the link mentioned in the iPhone section won't subscribe to the calendar directly. To subscribe on an Android, sign in to your Google account on a PC or Mac. If you don't have a Google account, the Android OS typically prompts you to set one up during the initial phone setup (similar to iCloud on the iPhone). Even if you don't actively use it, having a Google account is necessary to download apps like HOGSCAN! and use other features. To find your Google account username on your phone, go to Settings, then Accounts, and look for it listed there.

Once you have your Google username (and password), sign in to your Google account on your PC or Mac. After signing in, click on the Google Apps link in the upper right corner of the browser window. This will display a grid of apps. Click on Calendar.

You'll be taken to your Google Calendar screen. On the left side of the calendar screen, look for "Other Calendars" and click the plus sign next to it.

When you click the plus sign, a menu will pop up. From the menu, choose "From URL" as shown below.

Copy this URL: webcal://www.bhhog.org/calendar/feed and paste it into the "From URL" box on the page that pops up. Once you've pasted the link, click "Add Calendar."

That's it! You've successfully added the BHHOG Event Calendar to your Google Calendar!

It may take a few minutes for the calendar to appear on the list of calendars on your phone. Depending on your calendar settings, you may need to go into your calendar screen on the phone, select the calendar, and/or turn on sync to ensure that changes made to the calendar on the website show up on your phone.
